🕒 Start a Match
In Sportzdom, a match can only be started when all required players or officials are ready. This ensures fair play, smooth coordination, and accurate stat tracking.
✅ Match Start Rules
1️⃣ Opponent Acceptance is Mandatory
- A match cannot begin unless the opponent accepts the challenge.
- This applies to both individual and team matches.
- Players/teams are notified immediately upon challenge creation.
📩 Make sure your opponent accepts in time to avoid delays or cancellations.
2️⃣ Team Match: Player Confirmations
In team-based matches:

| Play Now | A minimum required number of team players must accept immediately |
| Scheduled | Team members should confirm their availability at least 2 hours before the match |
- All team members will get a push notification and alert to Accept or Decline.
- Players who accept are considered locked in for the match.
- Team captains can monitor confirmations from the match dashboard.
3️⃣ Tournament Matches
- Tournament matches can only be started and scored by designated match officials (e.g. Scorer, Admin).
- Players cannot start or self-score tournament matches.
- Teams and players must be on time and fully confirmed before match start.
🏆 For formal events, Sportzdom ensures only verified officials handle the match flow and scoring integrity.
4️⃣ Individual Matches
- For 1-on-1 matches (e.g. Tennis, Boxing, TT), participants can start the match if both accept the challenge.
- Match officials are optional, but encouraged for high-stakes matches or tournaments.
❌ No-Show Handling
If a team or player fails to show up:
- The match can be marked as “No Show”
- The opponent or match official can trigger this status
- A no-show:
- Results in automatic forfeit
- Is recorded in player/team stats
- Impacts reputation and ranking
💡 Frequent no-shows may result in temporary matchmaking restrictions.
